Sarah Palin's Bizarre Iowa Speech gets thanks--from the democrats.

After declaring she is "seriously interested" in running for president in 2016. She then delivers a confusing speech. She spoke at the Iowa Freedom Summit in Dea Moines on Saturday. She states, "things must change for our government. Look at it. It isn't too big to fail. It's too big to succeed!" That in itself confused me. She also stated "so much is at stake and we can't afford politicians playing games like nothing more is at stake than, oh, maybe just the next standing of theirs in the next election." This I thought was good considering we had talking about elections and once your elected you just worry about the next election.

Elizabeth Warren explains how anti-obamacare bulk is corporate welfare

Elizabeth argues in a hearing that a bill would redefine a full time work week under affordable care act as 40 hours instead of 30 actually amounts to a break do corporations. She argues that the businesses must provide Heath care to only employees who work 40 hours a week or more rather than 30. A few replublicans and democrats agree with the bill saying that the 30 hour standard offers an incentive making them cut workers hours to get around obamacare which gives full time employees insurance. It has been made low key that it has been suggested businesses have not shifted workers to part time so they can avoid the obamacare rule. Part time work has called since the law was passed. Congressional Budget Offuce report found that the standard from 30 hours a week was shifted to 49 hours a week. This leads to many workers being at risk of having their hours cut.  CBO proposed legislation would rise  the need to cut workers hours from 40 hours to a little below. This makes  a probability that 1 million workers could lose their insurance.  This bill would make a burden come I to taxpayers as opposed to companies  who have the burden now. She says "big corporations would get to cut health benefits for millions of workers, and push people out of their employer insurance plans. Some people will lose their health insurance all together. Other would be pushed onto federal programs, expanding the reach of Obamacare, and taxpayers would get stuck with the tab." These are a list of all of the repercussions.

Foreign Policy Cooperation w Congress Has Limit: Iran

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/01/12/us/politics/ap-us-united-states-iran-sanctions.html

UN ambassador for the US Said that further opposed sanctions on Iran will weaken existing sanctions and more than likely end all negotiations will end the advance for Iran's nuclear program.

If they impose don't new sanctions with Iran then they will maybe start working back with their nuclear program.

For example,  Cuba negotiation was a success and that is what is should be modeled as with the Iran situation. Cuba Communist released 53 prisoners as promised under the negotiations with the US to reestablish diplomatic ties.
Deciphering Obamas Chemistry with Congress_ or Lack of it.

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/01/12/us/politics/ap-us-obama-chemistry-with-congress.html

Washington says......."he hardly ever calls. When he does, it's all business"
Republicans have less chemistry. Although, GOP congressional leaders  do not try to be close with the President either.

Republicans show up to the White House upset with him already over Obamas veto threats and go in it alone policy moves.

Obama try's to reach out by having dinners ect...but due to the Republicans now being the majority  there is just not really much hope for harmony between Obama and the minority.

The democrats can try as hard as they want to but it seems they just will continue to not have a voice due to  the stubborn relationship between the two parties.

Obama has even gone to the extent of inviting John Boehner to go golfing who loves the game of golf yet it was an outing that has never been repeated.
Quite frankly Boehner took it as a jab for the White House to be able to veto threats.

Keeping a Promise

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/13/opinion/keeping-a-promise-to-afghans.html?_r=0

There is talk about weather the US kept their promise to Afghan military interpreters who were offered to come back and live in the American to recognize what a great justice they had served to the US.  It says that congress had started specual visa programs for those linguists in 2006 yet only a small amount of petitions that were submitted on their behalf were approved.

Within the last two years John Kerry(Secretary of the State) has worked to review process and approve a higher percent to be approved for these cases.  12,000 Afghan linguists have pending applications and the State Department can only issue 4,000 within the next two years:-(  this could have not happened if the Washington bureaucrats had operated better.

In 2010 and 2011 only a few dozen Afghan linguists were allowed to immigrate. American officials in Kabul looked at the program  as something that could only get worse sending a message about how the war was going. In fact many linguists  actually received rejection letters telling them they were as "suspected threats" with  nothing to back that up.

6,500 visa slots that congress set aside expired which left the Afghans in a stand still unable to return to their homes.  Finally there were service men and women who lobbied reps in congress to get help. Last year they were able to extend the program  allowing  the 4.000 slots. John McCain and  Jeanne Shaheen championed the cause.

Soon the White House will present a  budget request to Congress allowing  new visa slots to be made. If the US  fails to give the linguists this deserving shot at a new life then they will fail to keep their promise and add a  "shameful chapter to the legacy  of a war that has been grim enough for Afghans".
